You're really in deep, using that horror of a Monogram kit. Thing was originally tooled up in 1978 (as I recall) and was still inferior to the then decade plus year old AMT kit.
Really, if you wanted a 1957 Chevy Belair with a four-link and a 454, using the super accurate AMT/Ertl '57 Bel Air Street Machine (1998 issue).
