Hi there,

Firstly the Supra looks great in that color but to answer ur questions.

With a metallic colour always clear coat before u use rubbing compound, reason being the tiny little metal flakes will cut the excellent paint job you have done. So clear coat then rubbing compund.

On gloss colors its a preference to whether u clear coat or not. I know Pman never uses clear coat. So if the paint job is done right a rubbing compound will do fine.

I suggest using semigloss black, I personally think the other two are either too dull or to glossy. Also I would say do the surrounds before using the compound. Even if u use a low tack masking tape it can still leave residue behind. So try and do all the painting u need before u compound.
