It is definitely buyer beware when it comes to finding a Shelby Mustang. Like Jeff was suggesting get real familiar with what makes a Shelby Mustang a real one. And keep in mind that even though any real Shelby Mustang is a keeper, some are more than others. And beauty is in the eye of the buyer/owner. 1967 GT 500's are hot property right now. I bet there are more '67 GT 500's now than there were in 1967. I've seen more reproductions than I could have imagined. Some were very well done, but not real and could fool even the best of us.
