Re: New idea.
I'm not maxing it a "box" I am just laying down a 12" by 2 peice of wood over the space of my trunk and create a center peice to seperate the chambers ( giving it the desired cubic footing. ) and slap my 12's in. Keep my amp in the spare tire well. put my ferred on the other side in my lock box with jumper cables and various other small things .
All I am creating is a top panel ( for now ) and sealing it with some silicone , white stripping and painting the box either red , or metallic purple.and use some thin 1/16's polymer botton seals to make sure of air tightness. So , I went and have the wood made. screwed the other peice to make a "T" to create 2 sealed chambers and I spray painted half of it before I got bored and decided to play marvel vs capcom 2. So anyways , I primed it first though with a base gray primer ,it's a smooth finish 5/8's press board so it's turning out not too shabby. Like I said , this is just expiremental and if it turns out to kick just as much bass as the bandpass box ( Which was obviously designed for speakers that need massive air flow as it has 2 - 4" ports for each sub.) then I will convert this to a plexi-glass system. BUt as it sits now , I bought the kicker 12"s and some one gave me the box. I put them in and they aren't hitting to their full potential in that box so ...just trying a new idea. If it works , Great , If not , well....back to the drawing board eh ?
