No worries mate, this is a pretty tight little forum in a corner of AF and you all have a right to know I guess.
Who am I?
Well Im a truck driver by trade and a Philsopher by training. Iv been moderating car Forums for over 5 years (pretty sad huh

)
I currently drive a Honda, and I happen to quite like it, but Iv owned Nissan and Triumph in the past. Nothing American Im afraid, but we dont get a lot of American cars here in New Zealand.
Iv been working on cars for over 10 years, the last place I did anything profesionaly was for the the NZ Lotus agent, again no American cars (just one old Caddie engine, and a GT40 replica) but lots of European cars and plenty of Lotus's. Would you belive I have driven V8s from Lotus, BMW, Mercedes and Rover, but never a Ford or Chevy. I would love to have a go with a chevy small block
Im not really that much of a hard arse, and if your search far enough and deep enough you'll find me taking the piss as much as the next guy, but I do know how to spot trolls. People who have no life and have nothing to contribute to a forum. They are simple minded people who are only here for attention, but unforunatly arn't happy with just being a nice person. Instead they have to creat trouble and do thier best to get noticed, its some kind of weird power trip for them or something. We get one about once a month, and as mods we all have differnt ways of hunting them down and dealing with them. Its sort of an internet sport.
As for my sig, well have a read of this:

I have my own opinions about what manufactors are better than others, but they are only opinions based on my own perspective of what I believe the ultimate automobile is.
A bit of rivalry is OK, and all part of the fun. Hell in the depths of the AF archives is a thread 10 pages long where a Nissan owner and I debate whos car is faster, but its all good fun and bloody funny.
But when it goes beyond rivalry, and people start claiming a car is better just because of the badge then its getting silly. We no longer live in a world where a car is designed and manufactored intierly in one part of the world, and it hasnt been that way for at least 10 years. Did you know that cars like the Civic Coupe was designed in the US and only built in the US in Left Hand drive. It was then exported to Japan and Australia where it was converted to Right Hand drive, we get them here as used imports, and theres a lovely "Made in America" plate rivioted into the firewall. Same for the Toyota Camry, all the NZ new cars were built in the US. The Honda accord wagon is another one designed and built in the US. And of couse the Chevy Chaviler is sold in Japan badged as a Toyota, as is the Chevy Caprice (which is actualy built on a chassis/platform designed by Opel and adopted for the V8 by Holden in Australia).
Its ok to jokingly claim your chevy is better than your neighbors ford, just as long as its clear its a joke.
But to claim your car is better because it carrys a badge from a company that started life in American simply isnt true anymore. That company is no longer American, it is something far far greater, it is global and belongs to no nation.
Hence my sig
