It seems that as long as the fuel tank is at least 1/3 filled (as seen by gauge) the car runs fine. Unfortunately the fuel pump was changed by a mechanic. Yes it does have a tube going down to the bottom. I think it is very reasonable if it is theoretically displaced higher so that it can't reach the bottom of the tank.
I wll try Replacing Crankshaft Position Sensor too (have to look first what this is and where it is). But would this if broken work fine if the tank is filled?
