Getting a diff BOV will not give you any extra horses unless your current one is leaking. If it's a bad enough leak, then yeah, you'll feel it. It won't reduce engine life at all, you've already got one on there, so why would it do any damage? They are there to release the excess built up pressure that's in the turbos during a shift.
