Pre 1995-1996 vehicles use R12 freon, that stuff is like gold $50.00 per pound around here. Yours takes about 2.0lbs, I think. There is the option of using a synthetic R12 or converting to the new stuff R134A. You can buy conversion kits(134a) from most parts stores for pretty cheap comparing to R12. Includes R134A w/ special oil & R134A conversion fittings. Since yours a/c system is already evacuated you may want to have it checked for leaks before recharging. Repair shops, even quick lubes can do a leak test for $20.00 or so. Basically they put of vacuum on the system & hope it holds for about 15-20min.
