I am tempted to get a tach, so that I know what the RPMs are. I feel like 1st and 2nd gear very short. I seem to rev rather high in second, and then third seems to be bogged down.

Do these 6 cylinders like to rev?

Or should I be in a certain gear for a certain speed?

I also have a 4.9 liter 6cyl but with a 4 speed manual. I never start out in first it is just too low. But when I am in third gear I can go about 35 and its revving then I pop her in fourth it does kindof bog down becasue it jumps from a low gear to fourth which I beleive is a 1 to 1 ratio. I dont have a tach but it would be nice to have I think I rev more than 2,000 going down the raod at 60mph. My 6cyl does nto like to rev that 6cyls are known for their low end torque and mine is no exception
