Re: Recommendations needed for Bay Area (Tri-Valley) Mechanic 4 engine work
Well I'm sure everyone would love to help. My first 2 pieces of advice:
1) the mechanic said it needed to be rebuilt. Ask him exactly why, and write it all down, every broken/worn part that is wrong with the car, then post up his account of the situation on this page, so that we can point you in the direction of necessary repairs, prices, and so forth. Alot of mechanics don't know our cars and many are money-hungry too, and will suggest the most expensive project on earth to get money out of you.
2) www.3si.org is another great 3000gt board. It has a forum that is split up into locations, this may assist you in finding competant 3000gt enthusiasts near you that could either help you or point you to a mechanic which will. Good luck, and keep us posted. O yeah, welcome to AF.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
