You talking about the knuckle in the tilt column???
Took me about 6 hours as a first timer. Probably could be done in 2 or 3 by an experienced pro. I also replaced all the bearings while I was in there.
It's not a very difficult job, but you'd best pay attention to how everything comes out. Pay particular attention to the plastic slide for the dimmer switch and the rack. (I also replaced my rack which is a common wear item) It requires a lot of patience and a few special tools. Steering wheel puller, torx drivers, spring plate pressure release, small slide hammer. Be gentle with the wires in the column and pay attention to the routing. I used the GM manual, but it looks like Haynes has pretty good instructions also.
