i'm kinda shocked that you being so 'educated' from reading magazines etc, that you wouldn't know the basics needed to wire up a system?? i'm no expert myself(by far hahha) but i did wire up my system, and my friends system in our cars..
wiring goes like this:
4g off red term on battery,runs to fuse holder, other end of fuse holder is an 8g wire that runs all the way to the amp(this is the power for the amp) in the fuse holder which is holding these wires you will install a fuse.. but you install the fuse LAST. so next you will have 2 rca cables that you will plug into the pre-outs on the back of your head unit.. these then run back to the amp as well. along with these is the remote wire. this gets connected to the headunit and run back to the amp. then the only wires left are wires to run to your sub(s). i think that pretty much sums it all up? oh and then after everything is connected you stick in the fuse in that fuse holder, turn on the music and cross your fingers.
