The rather small amount of water that it takes to clean the engine with a pressure washer does not have enough thermal mass in comparision to your engine block and components to cool anything down too fast and warp anything - like your heads. The only real issue with power washing is to be careful around electrical components like the ABS module and the ECU.

Thanks for the reply. I asked the guy if he thought we should cover anything under the hood before hand, but he said that most everything was sealed pretty good so there was no real need to do so. I knew the engine was to hot as soon as he started spraying...........steam was comming off the engine. Hopefully this didnt do any harm.
