There is no clear sing that the belt needs changing.
Mileage is the only easy determining factor.
Ive put 3 of them on my 95 each around 75K except for the third one
which I replaced at 110K when I lost the cylinder head gasket.
All of them hardly looked used, no cracking or signs that they looked bad.
I just did it because if one fails its a real bad thing. its a $40 dollar insurance pollicy if you do it yourself. Which isn't easy.
