Unhappy excess fuel consumation, please help me!

Hi everybody!
Excuse for my English writing... I'm from Québec City... When I arrived here from my country, Romania, I knew better English than French.. But now... I forgot it, I live in too French style in Québec..
Ok... Please, help me, I have an Elantra '93, GLS model, 1,8 l, 16 valves DOHC engine. I have this car from 2000. I'm very thankfuly for my car. I change the oil every 5000 km and I'm very moderate concernig the speed...

Nevertheless, I thnink that my car consume TOO MUCH GAS! 450 KM for 45 liters outiside the city ...! I don't understant why... espacially khnowing that, previously, my car was very economical.
I changed fuel filter, air filter, the sparks, the cable sparking etc. I checked the tank, actually the outside of tank, no drop of gas, I cheched the tubes... no escape of fuel, no smell of fuel inside in the car... The power of engine is the same, the automatic transmition works normaly (no slipping).
Please help me if you have any idea about this "extraterrestrail" problem...
Thank you in advance!
