I have a 2004 Tahoe LT 4x2. Stock tires were 265/70R16. I just replaced them with 275/55R20. Doing the calculations, the new tires were very close in size to the 265/70R17 tires you could get as an option, so I didn't think the larger tire size I added would be a problem. After putting the wheels on tonight, the front driver's tire rubs the plastic in the front of the wheel well, just aft of the winshield washer fluid tank, when turning. The plastic looks like it sticks out a distance and the tank is not in the way. I thought about grabbing the dremel and cutting it off, but figured I better ask first. With my tire size now being so close to the 17" tires I didn't think this would be an issue. Any help?
I also planned to take it to the dealer to have them reprogram the computer to the 265/70R17 tire size, since it's less than 1% different from what I put on. Thanks,
Brett
