H&R makes very nice springs. Your stock struts could last 10,000miles or 3yrs, but during that time they wont be performing correctly. I recommend no more than 2" drop for street use, 1.5" prefer. Why? The lower the spring, the higher the spring rate. Stiff springs aren't fun for every day driving. You will need an alignment & possibly camber kits depending how low you go. It's also a good time to replace upper strut mounts & dust boots if needed.
True coilovers come with both springs & struts, so you don't have to worry about that. Just camber kits, alignment, & corner weighting. I honestly think coilovers are over kill for the street. Most people just adjust all 4 corners thinking their cars is great, until they take it for a corner weighting they'll find out that car is all jacked. EVERY time you adjust ride height plan on alignment & cornerweighting. Your better off spending more money for lowering springs & struts if the car is for street use. If you race a lot & know how to set-up a suspension then go for the coilovers.
