As far mods go, 8.8 mm plug wires and good 2.5 inch exhaust will make the truck sound a little better an improve fuel economy a bit. A note on changing spark plugs, you will need to remove the front tires and access the plugs through the wheelwell. Some people loosen the steering shaft, in can be done either way. Rust is prone in the quarter panels and door bottoms as well. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Alternator will go bad at around 100,000 miles, water pump can be replaced too, it's a simple job.
its a TBI...it has 224'000 miles on it but the engine was rebuilt at 192,000...has all srvc records...and regularly maintained. Its runs great. Being that its a 4x4 is there anything that i should beware of....would car tires be better due to the fact that i dont 4wheel at all?...And since im on that..how do you know if the 4-wheel drive works?. there is a green light and yellow light that come on when i start the truck but they go off and nothing happens. Now when i turn the key back and then push one or the other, i hear clicking noises, not so when its on.
