Ok, according to my 96 owners manual and other info online... You turn the key to the on position (not starting the car) then off to reset the system. Then find the fuse box (located on the side of the dash on the drivers side) remove the radio fuse (fuse 15 I think), close your door then cycle the key to on and off (don't start it) three times the locks should cycle lock unlock and pop the hatch. Then after that hold both the lock and unlock button on the keyless until the locks in the ar cycle through lock unlock. The programming is complete. Put back the radio fuse and give it a try. Also you should check to see if your car has factory keyless entry. Check the RPO code list located on the drivers door above the striker. The code AU0 is the code for keyless. If your car doesn't have this code the keyless will not work.
