actually, from what i understand, a 4wd car can often be changed between 4wd and 2wd (usually rwd), and these setups are often found on trucks/jeeps. Awd can be changed, and always powers all 4 wheels (unless it has that nissan computer controlled awd on their skylines), and is usually found on cars. so yes, 4wd and Awd are actually different.
