Well, usually (not always) people with larger engines like V8's tend to get Superchargers, and with 4bangers and some V6's they will usually get Turbos.... Turbo's take time to spool up to build pressure so that you can have a higher mixture of air and fuel to create more power. The smaller the engine, the quicker its gonna reach its max PSI. Thats why you will see a lot of imports with 4-bangers have primarily turbos on them. I'm not sure exactly on how Superchargers work(I'm just getting into bigger engines) I just know they use belts instead... Take C5 Corvette's for instance; they have a 5.7L engine(i think), you wont see many if any turbo setups for them anywhere, but you can find Supercharged setups.
I've only become a car fanatic within the last year so I don't know if I'm entirely correct but, to the best of MY knowledge I would suggest goin with a Supercharger.
Turbo = high end(top speed), smaller engines
Supercharger = low end(better launch), bigger engines
