Im not sure if you did this or if you know to, but here goes. 1st take out the #1 spark plug and disable the ignition. 2nd get a fired to help you, cover the spark plug hole with your thumb, then have someone bump the ignition over until it blows your thumb off the hole (exhaust stroke). 3rd mark the damper at the timing grid/needle/scale whatever you have or make a mark on the block so that you can see where they line up. 4th put the spark plug back in, put the wire on, and re-connect the ignition. Start the car, let it come up to operating temp, and see where your timing is. Good luck.
