I have a 78 f150 supercab 4wd that does the same thing. I replaced the alternater, regulator, went through much of the wiring, all to no effect. There dosent seem to be a problem keeping 2 batteries charged up, so I just left it. Good luck fixing it, and if you do, please let us know what it was. Many fords seem to be aflicted with that problem.
