That gm engine went into a bunch of different cars. I suspect the S 10 will work, but I'm not sure of this.

I doubt that the heavy duty oil pump will cure oil pressure loss at high rpms, since at high rpms the regular pump is already pumping like crazy. Don't redline the engine, and if your engine is tired, go to a heavier multigrade (20-50) and hope for the best.
