As far as i'm concerned, I don't think there is nothing wrong with the engine. It's just the turbo that's not working. Like you were saying, if I changed the turbo in my car, I would have to change my cat also. If this is done, then I won't pass smog right? Are there any ways to pass smog (that is, test only) with the new turbo. I mean, I heard other people have gotten away with it. Oh, and one more question. Because I'm going to have to smog (not test only) my car this Friday, I was wondering if I would pass it if my turbo is not working. The engine is fine, but the turbo is dead. Any comments whether I would be able to pass it. Thanks.
