Re: 400sb HP??

Woohoo!! Reminds me of my younger days . A few years back I built up a 406 (400, bored out .030), 10.25-to-1 compression, solid cam, roller rockers, camelback 1.94's, Edelbrock Performer RPM, Holley 750 double pumper, Mallory Electronic distributor, MSD-6A box, and fenderwell headers. Backed it up with a steel flywheel and a Muncie M21, and dumped it in my 67 Nova with a 4.11 rearend and M/T 28x10.5-15 slicks. Those tires would not stick because of the 400's torque, and the "shock" of the clutch being engaged. This engine you're building may get a little costly because if you're going to use a 150-shot of nitrous, that stock crank and rods won't take that abuse for long. Aftermarket cranks and rods for this engine aren't cheap. Plus you'll have to find a suitable flywheel that'll work with this engine (the 400 is externally balanced, like a big block), as well as work with the 5-speed you plan on using. Very challenging to say the least. But it can be done. Good Luck
