That car has enough miles on it so that a 10W-30 might be just right. A 5W would be good to but the consumption will be greater.

Amsoil is just another oil sold by a pyrimid distribution network. If the price of the Amsoil is competative then use it. I would not extend my drain intervals however. If something goes wrong with the engine you may not catch it.
