Re: info on d15b2 to sohc vtev (d16z6 or d16y8) engine swap

man....
Ur gonna have a hell of a time with your powersteering! I had an 89 lx sedan and swapped in a D16Z6. I had all kinds of problems in the swap with the powersteering. lets see...
first, the power steering pump only fits on the bracket from the D15B2,B7,B1,and B6. It wont fit on the bracket from the Z6 block. So then, youd think just swap the mounting bracket from the B2 block to the Z6 block. Nope, wont work cuz the bolt pattern is different. So then you'd think that you can just use the z6 power steering pump. That wont work either because the line coming from ur firewall that bolts to the top of the power steering pump on ur b2 is different than the z6 pump, again it has a different bolt pattern. Ur only 2 options is to either have a custom bracket built to allow you to bolt the b2 power steering pump/bracket to the Z6 block or to just not connect it at all. This might not cause too much of a problem in the summer but when the winter comes, i hope ur steering wheel rack doesn't lock up because the lack of fluid being pumped thru.

good luck! if you got any questions just PM me
