Timing belt cant squeal or make other noises. It cant slip. Its a cog tooth type belt, not a v belt.
My car often will make strange noises, then magically stop. I decided years ago that I wasnt going to chase down every noise that I heard. I could never find them anyway, then they would go away on thier own. Now I just wait for the affected part to fall off, then there is no question about what I need to fix
But you should get your ball joints checked anyway to be safe at least, and if they need replacement its free.
