My truck also has a taping noise, that sounds like its coming from the fan area. when the truck warms up it goes away. it's been doing that since it was brand new. also when its real cold it makes a sort of buzzing noise also, but its from the engine, that also goes away. I found out from someone at a chevy dealer. that these trucks usually come up with problems that are hard to figure out. Like I get a noise from underneath when I shift into reverse. not all the time but at least when i first shift into reverse. then it wont do it again if I shift back into reverse right away. its like a clinck noise. they replaced my driveshaft 2 times. it would stop the noise for a short while, but it comes back. But it has no effect on the way it drives. I mean it's still a smooth ride. But for all the money we spend on these trucks, we should not have to deal with any problems.
