Two good rules to always remember when purchasing anything.

1) Buyer beware

2) If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

There are an infinate number of possibilitys why a brand new $8000 - $10,000 bike would cost $3000 - $4500. Theft recovery, damaged repaired, totaled and rebuiilt, stolen, ect. I dont think i would ever buy anything with a motor off e-bay unless i counted on it being a project. Especially if it has two wheels. A great resource to use when you are ready to buy is cycletrader.com That way you can go and talk to the buyer one on one, ride the bike and get a feel for how they treated it, or see what dealers have the bike your looking for.
