Also I crankwalked 3 motors and the clutch never behaved any different than normal. The earliest possible sign is actually a slight drop in RPM, 50 or so, seen on a digital tach like on the AFC, when you step on the clutch. The only way to catch it earlier is to measure every so often But I have also seen cars that drop 50 rpm be right in spec, so dont everyone panic if your RPM drops on the AFC when you step on the clutch
