1992 325ic convertible lid closing assembly
Just bought the car used and had to take apart the convertible lid motor and assembly to replace some worn parts. When I put it back together, the motors do not receive any electricity when the open and close switches are flipped. Any thoughts? Checked all the fuses -- they are fine. Manual does not indicate which fuse is for convertible. Does it have its own separate fuses back near the motors?
One other thing. Because the whole assembly was not in working order when I bought it, I'm not sure if everything in the well is properly assembled. Even BMW parts diagrams don't show how it fits together, and none of the service books I've been able to find have any diagrams. To be more specific, I don't know how to get the cables to activate the "clamps" that keep the hood down tight on either side. It looks like there's something on that turning arm (the part that comes through the trunk) that could pull cable into proper place when it turns to close the lid, but I'm not exactly sure how it all fits together.
