I'd check the electrical connection there at the top the gas tank first. Unplug it and see if there is some dirt or something inside the molded plug itself. Then I'd follow the 2 wires back to the relay and make sure 1 or both wires wasn't pinched or had rubbed against something and worn thru the insulation. If memory serves the Tan/White is the power lead from the relay under the dash. If the wiring looks ok after that, I'd pull and test the relay. But like I said, I'd check the wiring first cuz it sounds to me like a loose ground or something.Hope this helps some.....
