Same problem with my '99 tahoe ... only happens on the passenger side mechanism and only when it gets hot. I am thinking that one of the components is expanding out of tolerance when it gets hot, causing the the mechanism to stick. I can't prove it just yet though ... I'll need to wait until June/July again.
