Alright, i had this problem on my 83, i know theyre different everything but it may prove a possibility. My engine was taken out and replaced and when it was put back in he took a hole out of my heater core casing and smashed my heater core. How this occured im not sure but when the coolant went into the heater core it ran all over inside the thing and apparently ran out through my lower front passenger vent. It also ran down my front firewall and steamed and blew steam out of my vents. No heat though. I replaced my heater core, and fixed the chunk that was taken out of its casing. In your case, maybe a hose is loose? But i was getting no heat because it was all blowing out the hole into my eng compartment. Just a suggestion.
