Contrary to popular opinion, they do not actually perform measurably better.
They are used to remove unsprung weight for handling purposes, and also for looks.
on the other hand, if you are not doing serious braking, you shouldn't have a problem with warping/cracking.
Best bet for a street-driven car is regular rotors. Larger rotors will help much more than drilled rotors of teh same size.
And the argument that slotted/drilled rotors romeve the gasses that build up from brake pads is old. Modern pads do not create nearly as much gas as old pads do, and it is no longer much of a concern.
