First of all, dont bother making the stock engine "like" a Mustang's 5.0 HO. The Vic will have a standard 302 with cast pistons and the old firing order. It will probably have speed density instead of mass-air metering too. If you need all that power just to break a 14, then I would either get a 351W, blower, or a lighter car. The 351W will look alot like a 302, but the potential is greater. Then again, a 460 will set you up even better. The swap will get a little more involved, but jeez, 500hp with no sweat.

If you really want a 5.0 HO, you'll have to change the throttle body, cam, upper and lower intakes, pistons(HO had forged '87-92), computer, and possibly the heads and injectors. It would be more economical to just get an HO out of a Mustang or Lincoln.
