Yes... you have a transmission Torque converter lock up switch... its located on the front side of the transmission, facing the radiator. It has 4 wires i believe. i'm pretty sure its the only electrical connection you will find there. what you can do is unhook it, and drive normally, .. see if the car acts up. If it stops bucking and dieing... you will have to get the sensor replace. you can drive without it, but over time it may cause some damage.
