Well, if you are looking for a material that is inexpensive, vinyl is relativly inexpensive. I perfer Nova-Suede myself, but unless you know where to go to get a good price on it, vinyl will be easier for you to find cheaply (though Nova-Suede may be a little easier to work with. If you re-wrap anything is vinyl, nova-suede, or another material, make sure to clean the surface very well first. Easy to find cleares that will help are a) srucbing and washing the panel with a ditergent like tide. These can be rather harsh, and wll clean off lots of crap. b) lacquear thinner will remove things like overspray and wax. Now, you would need a good contact cement too. After the surface of the panel is clean, you would spray BOTH the panel and the backside of the material with the contact cement. Let it sit for 5 minutes to get tacky. Wrap the material over the panel, smooth flat. That's a basic, very simple explanation of wrapping interior parts. Ricochet gave a simple expanation of how to paint. If you are gonna paint the WHOLE door panel though, fiberglass it first, then paint it. It will give you a much better finshed look. Fiberglassing isn't exteremly hard. If you arn't afraid if you mess up a few times, you'll be fine. To get Vinly, Nova-Suede, etc...open the yellow pages, and look up fabrics. Call all the places asking if they carry the material you are looking for in the color you want. Then if they do, ask there price per square yard for the material. For a Conact Cement, since I doubt you have an air compressor with a syphin feed spray gun, 3M makes some good contact cements in spray cans. Also, PER-MAC is also a good conact cement. You'll most likely have to look up upholstery in the yellow pages and call around asking if they have it and what they have, though a check of your local hardware store can yeild supirsing results. For Paint and Fiberglassing stuff, unless you are looking for the ultra high end professional products, there's no need to go to an industrail supplier (like Industrail Finishes), though you can almost certainly find contact cement like the strongest 3m one or PER-MAC there. A automotive sotre like shucks, kregen, baxters, napa, etc...should have spray paint and fiberglassing stuff to suit your needs.
