More than once I have seen a maladjusted cruise control (CC) clutch switch. There are two clutch switches. One is activated at the bottom of its travel (clutch in), for the start safety feature. The other is at the top of the clutch pedal travel (clutch up) and that is to deactivate the CC when you put the clutch in. On my particular car, the switch was so close to the edge, that just the weight of the pedal would trigger that switch on bumps and turn off my CC. And I Could get CC to work again/light to come on unless I lifted up on the clutch pedal with my toe and turned it on, lol. In fact, try that next time you are driving. Might be a quick way to see if that is the problem. If not, I would still readjust that switch. OTher possibilities are the motor connector is unplugged (you'll find that motor unit under the hood, at the end of the mess of cables). Thats all I can think of off the top of my head... Hope it helps, Good luck.
