Okay, this is the first completed model I've posted here so go easy on me
This for those not familiar with it, this is the first generation of Nissan Silvia from 1966, model CSP311. The real car was designed by Albecht Goertz and they were all hand built on Datsun Fairlady Roadster chassis. Less than 500 were were made and today they fetch big money.
This started out as a 1/24 motorised kit from Imai, one of the "Super Driving" series. This kit isn't very detailed and has no suspension or engine but is nicely moulded and fairly acurate. The body required only minor preperation for paint, amazing on a kit as old as this. The chrome in the kit is nice but the headlights are poor. I used some Modelers lenses but it didn't improve them much. The paint is a Nissan color and is straight from a Halfords spray can

I didn't want to go with the stock wheels so I used some from an Arii GC110 Skyline kit. The tyres came from a Revell Tuner 510 kit. I also made an exhaust from aluminium tube as the original was pathetic

I lowered the suspension a bit but not too much as I wanted to keep it looking old school. I still have a little polishing to do and I need to do something about the Silvia emblem on the trunk lid (like paint it or foil...not decided which..either is going to be hard as hell to do

) I might add some valve stems to the wheels as well yet.
My R31 Tommy Kaira Skyline should be finishes tomorrow too hopefully so I'll post some pics of that when it's done. That's if I can fit it in between the two christmas presents I'm building for people
