Downside...
"A SPDT switch bypasses your alternator while the ESC 400 is running, eliminating all parasitic loss." The driver would have to flick a switch before hitting the accelerator and flick the switch again to start recharging the batteries.

"or another 15-second burst of sheer power." How long does it take the batteries to recharge? What is the lifetime expectency of these batteries?

Turbocharger systems are on-demand -- no need to upgrade alternator or electrical system, no need to wait for recharge, no need to flick any switches.

Thomas Knight is proud to unleash the revolutionary ESC-400 Electric Supercharger

This is not that POS bilge pump fan you've seen on eBay that barely pushes 1 PSI. This is not a leaf blower. Our product works. This is real technology. From a real company. Pushing real power.

Our patent-pending ESC-Series Electric Supercharger™ technology shocks the competition with up to 20 PSI of instant boost. Yes, we said 20 PSI. In 3/10 of a second. With zero parasitic loss.

Can your leaf-blower add 75+ HP with the push of a button? We didn't think so.

But if this isn't a gimmick, how did we accomplish the impossible? Simple. We're very good at what we do. The ESC-400™ features a powerful twin-rotor core and CNC 60-16 T6 aluminum billet, but unlike conventional roots-type superchargers, it isn't belt-driven. And unlike the hundreds of failed designs before it, the ESC-400™ doesn't suck current straight from your alternator. Both would reduce your system's efficiency when you need it most. By Thomas Knight standards, that's unacceptable.

Instead, the ESC-400's custom-wound 18HP electric drive system is powered by an independent, renewable source: ultra-lightweight MIL-SPEC racing batteries. The kind specifically designed for hardcore use and lightning-fast recharge. Think of these as your Nitrous tanks, adding 15,000 watts of boost without the $1,000 to $10,000 a year in refills (do the math: our customers with Nitrous go through 1-4 bottles/week, and at $30 to $45 per bottle, that's from $1560 to $9360 a year ). Instead, these bad boys recharge for free. A SPDT switch bypasses your alternator while the ESC 400 is running, eliminating all parasitic loss.

And remember, because this is a simple electrical system, your recharge options are limited only by your imagination and technical ability. In the most basic setup, you can charge off your stock alternator when the ESC 400 is not running (recharge in 4-8 minutes), but we recommend installing a high-capacity alternator like those used in advanced stereo systems (recharge 1-2 minutes). So while you're waiting in the staging lanes or cruising along the strip, you can hurl insults at the Nitrous guys while your system preps for another 15-second burst of sheer power.

That's more than enough time to run the quarter mile or remind that high school kid with the neon muffler bearings who his daddy is.

I told you we were good. It's what you've come to expect from Thomas Knight. After all, we've been designing custom kits for high-speed boostheads since 1976. With the invention of the Electric Supercharger, Thomas Knight has opened a new chapter in performance technology. Get ready for the ride of your life.
