The 1998 Suburban LS is RWD or at least the wrecked one I found was.
the probes engine bay is very small but the swap could be done, my uncle who helped me is a master at this stuff, he is actually in the navy and machines parts for the aircraft carriers so he was able to build new engine mounts and widen the front chasis by three inches. The titanium inserts he actually stole off base(maybe I shouldnt of said)any way we welded those in to the chasis to prevent it from breaking from the huge amounts of torque the new V6 has.We bought an after market tein super street suspension and put rubbers between the coils to make it really really stiff.the drive shaft had to be cut then we bought a new U-joint for the new angle it was in.we also put 12 inch brake rotors on but when we tried to put the stock rims back they wouldnt fit over the brakes so we bought 17inch rims and perelli rubber(I think thats how you spell perelli). the car stock was 2,766 lbs and after the mods it was
3,390 lbs but the performance increased a lot. the 1/4 mile went from
17.556 secs to 13.987 secs, those were the best times. Its driftablity was so so it was hard to start the drift but easy to hold it through out the turns. The car once modified had no a/c no heat and the battery and fuse box were moved to the back of the car moving the fuse box was the hardest part in the entire conversion.
