Something easy? First off, you'll need to use the distributor and water pump from the '77, but use the flywheel and starter from the Buick--the 305 flywheel is a smaller diameter and has a balance weight.
Get an Edelbrock Performer intake to fit a 1988 and later small block. Use a Holley 450-to-500c.f.m. Double Pumper. That way, when you stomp on it, it will be wide open. Don't get a vacuum secondary, they suck.
Install a set of headers, some decent turbo mufflers, and get an Accell performance coil that installs to the top of the H.E.I. distributor cap. Get a distributor curve kit and install the lightest springs --no use messing with the weights, just change the springs---
