I've got the same year k10 with the same problem. I believe it's called the "actuator rack", it has teeth and two prongs on the end that goes toward the engine. At least that's what mine looks like as well as what appears to be a broken end on one of the prongs. Did you ever figure out how to get that replaced, or the other part that it connects to?
Looks like a common problem if I'm not the only one with it.
