If would have read my post a little more clearly I never stated that he had actually had an H22 ECU, I know he has the H23 ECU. What I said was; "As long as your using the H22 ECU (P13) (wired correctly) your VTEC will engage without the assistance of other computer hardware."
"And the swap, I recommend a full H22 over a "Frankenstien" H22 head on an H23 block" You see the keyword in there? RECOMMEND! Don't get it misconstrued. Just like you offered your advice, I offered mine.
My bitter feeling, is that too many people are overwhelmed with doing the "swap" these days, and don't acknowledge the absolute cost in such. It isn't about putting this or that engine in your car to be cool, its about whatever your going to do, atleast do it right the first time and avoid half-assing such an investment. How can one afford the swap, but can't annie up the extra 100 bucks for the right ECU?
