I don't know about anybody else, but I am particularly raising my BS flag because he sounds like an awestruck fanB01 talking about his Honda.

I know this, for my best friend's shop imports these cars whole and in part to sell as JDM parts/cars.

He doesn't sound like the type who would have the knowledge, money, or connections to import a car from another country, unless we're talking Canada or Mexico.

He sounds more like somebody that read about Integra XSi's in some magazine or the internet, and decided to make-up a story about it.

To the original thread starter: How did you import the vehicle here? What condition did you receive it in? The company that imported it? If you imported it yourself, what special condition had to be satisfied for you to be able to pass it through customs?

Answer the above questions, and I might believe you.
