If you get the air filter and intake get K&N. If you get the programmer get Hypertech. I'm in the same position as you though, I'm not sure as to which one to get first for my '96 2dr Tahoe Sport. The programmer is more of a noticeable change, because it tweaks the shift points and makes the shifts firmer to make it really bone out. But I also feel that the K&N would be good to get because I think it's more of a necessity for any engine. Personally, I think I'm going to go with the K&N first just because I feel that my stock air filter and intake are too restraining, and the K&N is cheaper than the Hypertech Programmer by about $70.
