I'm sorry, correct me if I'm wrong, but peak power to me doesn't mean jack, from what i've seen it's just a number they throw out there to attract people, RMS is where it's at. RMS is it's true power output or power handling. But then again who knows if RMS is just a number they throw out also, you can't really tell without the special tools to measure it. But yeah I think if you had to know, I would look at the RMS.
I'd say, get a amp that has a good reputation in the car audio industry that has a good power output (rms) and won't overpower your subs, and blow them, but then again thats what the gain knobs are for lol
Xtant, Alpine, Kenwood are all good car audio companies for amps. Sony to me, and just like Unite@af said, it's just not all their. For subs, go with JL or Eclipse. Remember this is just my opinion, don't take it to heart.
